AS Christians all over the world celebrate Easter, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Adeola (Lagos West), has called on all Nigerians to pray for peace and security amid serious insecurity around Nigeria.

Adeola appealed to all to practice the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love and abiding faith for a better tomorrow as exemplified in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said it is not possible to develop any society where love, sacrifices for one another, patience and hope for a better future are lacking.

“Our nation is faced with rampant insecurity from Boko Haram insurgents, bandit attacks, kidnapping, herders/farmers clashes that are not only hampering the progress of the nation but threatening its existence.

In addition to joining efforts at resolving these challenges, I call on all to pray for peace and security during the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,” he stated.

In the same vein, the Director-General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar Sulaiman, felicitated with Nigerians, particularly the Christian faithful as the world celebrates Easter.

The DG urged Nigerians to emulate the virtues and teachings of Jesus Christ, as he assured them of God’s ability to see them through whatever challenge or difficulty they might be experiencing.

He said the insecurity in Nigeria would soon be a thing of the past and that Nigeria would surely be victorious.

He called on Nigerians to connect with the rest of the world in prayers for health workers and other individuals providing essential services in the frontline of the fight against coronavirus.
