Joint team of NEMA and Enugu SEMA, flag-off agro input distribution to farmers affected by 2020 flood

The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA in partnership with SEMA and Enugu State government flagged-off distribution of agro inputs to farmers at the Nsukka Local Government Headquarters. The agro inputs distributed included rice seeds, fertilizers, herbicides and water pumps.

Less than two months ago, led by Hon. Engr Mike Ogbuekwe, Special Adviser on Agriculture to Enugu State Governor, a joint team of NEMA, SEMA and staff of the Ministry of Agriculture embarked on a state-wide verification of farmers affected by the 2020 flood. This distribution program is a follow up to the verification exercise.

The Chairman of the host Local Government, Barr. Cosmos Ugwueze expressed happiness that the poor farmers have received this massive intervention. The Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Matthew Idu while performing the official flag-off, tasked the farmers to utilize the inputs properly and ensure that no one sells off the products.

The NEMA team was led by Mr Kingsley Okolo while SEMA was led by Mrs Chinasa Mbah.
