Jubilation as Nkanu-West LG delegates vote Hon. Uche Ejim & Hon. Chijioke Ngene as the PDP Candidates for the forthcoming LG elections.

Following preparations for the Local Government elections in the 17 LGAs of Enugu State, the people of Nkanu-West LG, through her delegates, have elected Rt. Hon. Uchenna Callistus Ejim of Obinagu Uwani Akpugo Ward 1, and Hon. Chijioke Ngene, as the PDP’s flagbearers for the position of Chairman & Deputy Chairman respectively, of the Local Council in the forthcoming local government election.

Hon. Uchenna Ejim

Ejim, who was formerly a two term Councillor and the Special Assistant on Legislative Matters to the extant Executive Chairman of Nkanu-West LG, Chief Nwabueze Nnamani, was declared winner having scored the required number of votes in the Party’s primaries held today, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the PDP LG Party Secretariat, Agbani, Nkanu-West LGA.

Ejim’s inclusion in the race, the moment it became public knowledge days ago, was highly celebrated across social media by a lot of persons from Nkanu-West LG, which according to a party faithful who spoke to our Correspondent on the condition of anonymity, was due to his continued involvement in party affairs over the years, mixed with his humane and humble disposition.

The exercise was witnessed and superintended over by officials of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC). The total number of delegates were 332 delegates, while 280 delegates were accredited to vote. Rt. Hon. Uchenna Ejim was declared the winner by the ENSIEC officials, having secured 270 votes out of the total accredited voters, with 10 votes voided.
