As the list of the Peoples Democratic Party guber aspirants in Enugu State continue to increase by the day, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, Esq., has joined the race.

Accompanied by associates, friends, well wishers and his support group, he obtained his form in the PDP’s Wadatta Plaza, Abuja.

Udeh who hails from Ozalla in Nkanu West local government area of the state, was born on 14th November, 1980. He attended the College of the Immacualte Conception (C.I.C), Enugu, where he sat for his West African Examination Council Secondary School Certificate in 1998. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Upper 2nd Class from the University of Nigeria and obtained his Master of Laws (LLM) in Public International Law: Distinction in Public Procurement Law & Policy from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, in 2008, as well as his Doctor of Laws/Doctor of Philosophy (LLD/PhD) from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2018.

He also obtained certificates in Financial Management/Literacy from German International Development Agency: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Public Finance Management from DFID’s State Partnership for Accountability, Responsiveness & Capability (SPARC), and Advanced Security in the Field, United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in 2018, 2015 and 2014 respectively, among numerous others.

He is a member of a cornucopia of professional bodies, having a plethora of publications to his name.

From 2011 to 2017, he was a National Procurement Consultant to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with EU, FCDO (DFID) and the Federal Government, for water, sanitation and hygiene programmes in the 36 States of Nigeria. Later in March 2017, he became the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Enugu on Development Aid Coordination and Mobilization, a position he occupied till May 2019, when he was further appointed as Special Adviser on Education to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. He has resigned his office as the Special Adviser on Education, in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022. Within 2018 and 2019, he also was the State Focal Person, Open Government Partnership, Office of the Governor, Enugu State.

Dr. Udeh is a Notary Public and has been a Visiting Senior Lecturer in University of Nigeria, Faculty of Law, and a Senior Lecturer of the Faculty of Law in Baze University, Abuja. In 2012, he also lectured in the Nigerian Law School.
