The Enugu State Governorship race has seen so many entrants under the PDP in a way that has never been since the return of democracy in 1999.

Presently, about 20 candidates are believed to have purchased the PDP’s nomination and expression of interest forms to run for Governor of the state.

These candidates, in no particular order, are Mr. Peter Mbah, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Dr. Kingsley Udeh, Capt. Evarest Nnaji, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga, Prof. Bart Nnaji and Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo.

Others include Senator Gil Nnaji, Dr. G.O.C Ajah, Rev. Ralph Nwoye, Dr. Abraham Nneji, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, Mr. Godwin Ogenyi, Pastor Beloved-Dan Anike and Engr. Erasmus Anike.

Also, Prof. Jehu Nnaji, Prof. Hillary Edeoga, Prince Gilbert Chikwado Chukwunta, Barr. Nwabueze Ugwu and Dr. Josef-Ken Onoh are among the aspirants to have purchased the forms.

A party chieftain who didn’t want her name on print believed that Ugwuanyi’s silence isn’t helping matters.

“Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has not helped matters as his silence has continued to raise suspense and tension. The governor is yet to make a clear statement on the controversial issue of zoning and has also refused to show signs or body language of what to expect ahead of the party primary, as to where the pendulum could be swinging”, she said.
