Peter Mbah emerges Enugu PDP Governorship Candidate
Barr. Peter Mbah has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Enugu State ahead of the 2023 general elections.
At the election held at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu, Mbah who was a former Chief of Staff and commissioner of Finance in Enugu State won the other aspirants that didn’t stepped down nor withdrew from the contest.
Declaring the result, the Chairman of the Election Committee, Senator Ambuno Zik Sunday said Mbah won the election with 790 Votes.
The first runner-up, Hon. Chijioke Edeoga got 9 votes while Senator Ike Ekweremadu got 1 vote, Chinyeaka Oha, 3 votes and Gilbert Chikwado Chukwunta got 1 vote.

Sen. Ambuno said that the number of the accredited voters is 812 while 807 voted.
3 votes were invalid and the valid votes is 804.
“Barr. Peter Mbah, having scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner of the election,” the electoral chairman said.
Earlier, Captain Everest Nnaji, popularly known as Odengene, Former Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, withdrew from the race, Dr. Josef Onoh stepped down and congratulated Peter Mbah.
However, Chinyeaka Ohaa, Prof. Bath Nnaji didn’t step down and wasn’t at the venue
At the venue, eight aspirants stepped down for Peter Mba. The aspirants that stepped down include; Kingsley Udeh, Erasmus Anike, Nwabueze Ugwu, Ralph Nwoye, Prof. Jehu Nnaji, as well as Beloved-Dan Anike, Dr. Gabriel Ajah, and Abraham Nneji Chukwudi.
According to them, their decision was a mark of respect to the decision of the party leadership.
In his acceptance speech, Mbah thanked the Governor of the, Rt. Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for promoting democracy in the state.
He promised to serve with humility, transparency and inclusiveness while calling for the support of Ndi Enugu for the party to win the general election and expressed happiness for his emergence.
