Three people were burnt to death in Kogi state when a tanker laden with diesel burst into flames as the driver suddenly lost control while many others sustained injuries.
The crash occurred on Monday evening at 8:17pm at Felele , Lokoja opposite Living Faith Church when a tanker conveying flammable material ( diesel) burst into flames after falling.
The fire from the Crash was said to have burnt two other trailers and a Dyna Pick up van resulting to three persons burnt to death while two other victims were rescued with burns and taken to FMC Lokoja for Medical attention and the corpse deposited at the mortuary.
It was gathered that the crash was as a result of dangerous driving by the tanker Driver who suddenly lost control of the vehicle leading to crash on the Dyna PICK-UP VAN that was parked by the road side and 2 other vehicles which were also affected by the fire.
The accident led to a serious traffic hold up at the ever busy Abuja-Lokoja highway as motorists were stranded on the highway for hours before Operatives of FRSC conducted traffic control to clear the hold up that had built-up.
