The Enugu State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, Chief Geoffery Uche Nnaji, has named Barr. George Tabugbo Ogara as his running mate.

He disclosed this, Sunday, during an event tagged “Formal Presentation of the 2023 APC Deputy Governorship Running Mate” held at the party’s zonal office in Enugu.

Disclosing reasons for the seeming lateness in the unveiling of his running mate, Nnaji stated that the process towards making the choice was very tormenting and tedious in the face of other contenders who were also qualified for the position.

Nnaji who referred to himself as the best governorship candidate in the state, didn’t hesitate to say that going by Ogara’s qualities which suited his choice, he was happy to have found a matching Deputy.

In his words, “It was not easy because of the quality I was seeking. Knowing my quality, I needed a good match, knowing that as the best candidate, I must get the best Deputy”

He disclosed that he, alongside the leadership of the party in the state had been on a tour of local government areas of the state to say “thank you” to the people, describing the tour as eye opening.

“We just concluded the ward tours and we were disappointed with what we saw around the state. We discovered that what we were crying about on the dilapidation of Enugu metropolis was even worse outside the capital,” Nnaji said.
