Chetanne Chinelo, Enugu

The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, is set to unveil his campaign manifesto.

In an invitation signed by Dan Nwomeh, Head, Peter Mbah Media Office, the unveiling will hold on Thursday, October 13, 2022 by 10am at the Law Auditorium, Godfrey Okoye University, Thinkers Corner, Enugu.

Nwomeh stated that party faithfuls, various Peter Mbah campaign support groups, the media and the general public are invited.

Recall that the unveiling of the manifesto was initially to hold on Thursday, June 30, 2022, but was however postponed.

In a press release, the media organization hinged the reason for the postponement on the provisions of the Electoral Act and INEC Guidelines for 2023.

The statement released then read: “The decision came after a review of the Electoral Act and INEC Guidelines for 2023 elections by our legal team.

“The team advised that the scheduled event may be interpreted to be a violation of both the Act and the Guidelines, hence, the decision to discontinue the unveiling event.

“A new date that aligns with both the Act, and the Guidelines will be communicated later.

“We regret the inconveniences this may cause our invited guests, party faithful and supporters”.

Mbah who scored 790 votes during the PDP guber primaries held at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, is expected to be joined by his running mate and Deputy Governorship Candidate, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, party executives, some former gubernatorial aspirants, friends, well wishers and supporters.

At the end of the primaries and in his acceptance speech, Mbah promised to serve with humility, transparency and inclusiveness while calling for the support of Ndi Enugu for the party to win the general election in 2023.

Prior to joining the gubernatorial race, Mbah, a maritime lawyer, was Chief of Staff and Commissioner for Finance in the Chimaroke Nnamani led administration. He also is the Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited, a major player in the downstream sector of the oil & gas industry.

It is believed that the presentation of the manifesto is the first activity to signal the commencement of the PDP guber campaign in the state.
