The member representing the people of Nsukka/Igbo-Eze South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Pat Asadu has reaffirmed his commitment to the membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Enugu State, adding that Dr. Peter Mbah, Enugu PDP governorship flagbearer, is going to win the March 2023 general elections.

The ranking lawmaker who said this on Sunday at Ibagwa-Aka, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area, at a well-attended solidarity rally he organised in honour of the PDP leadership, Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Dr. Mbah and other candidates from the constituency, boldly declared that he has always been a huge beneficiary of the PDP, and would commit whatever resources within his disposal to ensure the victory of the party.

“I am here today to thank God because Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is the next governor of Enugu State by the grace of God. Because PDP has been nice to me, I have to be extremely nice and committed to the party and spend whatever is possible to make it win,” Asadu said.

Dismissing the presence of other political parties as no threat to the PDP in the area, Asadu said he would not abandon the party in the coming elections. He further insisted that those other parties will all fail in the forthcoming elections.

Asadu who further described Governor Ugwuanyi and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, the PDP governorship running mate, as his brothers, commended the governor for the good governance in the area which he said were numerous to mention, including the State University of Medical Sciences, Igbo-Eno, and for his benevolence in making sure that his 4th term in the House of Representatives was possible despite pressure from some quarters.

The lawmaker who expressed confidence that the PDP had already taken and won Enugu State, stressed that the party has never lost any ward since 1999, and would continue to maintain the pace.

He assured that all the offices illegally taken by some nefarious political parties belonging to the PDP will be retrieved from them and repainted with the PDP colour and logo.

On his own part, Engr. James Ajebo said the Gburugburu Movement is synonymous with good governance in the state, assuring that PDP will “sweep Igbo-Eze South and Nsukka whenever elections are conducted.”

He further said that the people have a strong faith and belief in the Mbah and his robust mantra of “Tomorrow Is Here.”

In a similar development, Barr. Ossai expressed his happiness at the solidarity rally organised by the 4 term legislator, maintaining that Asadu had only displayed his spirit of sportsmanship through the event.

The legal practitioner who also described Asadu as a global citizen, said the greatest achievement of the governor is the gift of Mbah and his running mate, even though the governor had made a huge impact in rural development, infrastructure, education, healthcare system and electrification.

Reacting to the solidarity rally, Mbah noted that he had a special relationship with the people of Nsukka zone having been bestowed with the sonship of the soil, stressing that he always feel at home whenever he visits Nsukka.

According to him, Asadu had demonstrated that he’s a perfect gentleman, and that the rally had put an end to rumours and speculations about the lawmaker’s position.

While commending Ugwuanyi for his myriad of good works in the state, the governorship hopeful promised to fast-track and improve on the economy, build new infrastructure that will drive economic growth and create jobs for the youth through his ambitious economic programmes encapsulated in his manifesto.

Acknowledging the organiser of rally, Governor Ugwuanyi prayed for God’s continuous blessing on him, saying he was glad that a day like that came to pass.

He further appreciated the people of the constituency for their support over the years, adding that his administration would be wrapping up on good note.
