A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sacked Hon. Chijioke Edeoga as the authentic Enugu State Labour Party governorship candidate.

The court has also ordered that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducts a fresh primary election within 14 days.

Recall that Hon. Chijioke Edeoga and Capt. Evarest Nnaji, have been in a legal tussle over who the rightful governorship candidate of the Labour Party is since both of them exited the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, after the May 25, 2022 primary election.

The judgement was earlier scheduled to be read on November 2, 2022, but adjourned to November 9, 2022.
