…As They Pledge to Send Him To Government House Come 2023

Frank Nweke Jr, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, on Sunday assured Nsukka people that his government will fulfill the promise of providing critical infrastructure and instituting a visionary, transparent, God-fearing and people-oriented leadership come 2023.

Nweke made the assurance as the people pledged their support to him for his visionary leadership qualities and impeccable track record at a town hall meeting at the Nsukka Civic Center, Obachara Nsukka. The people used the occasion to enumerate their needs to him.

Listing the woes that the people have faced under the leadership of the PDP-led government in Enugu State over the years, Hon Uchenna Ugwuanyi, APGA House of Assembly candidate for Nsukka West, said that Igbos are being marginalized in Nigeria. Hence the people need a political force like APGA to get what belongs to them. He pointed out that there are no functional rail lines in Igbo land unlike in other regions of the country adding that such can only be redressed by voting in Nweke and other APGA candidates because they are truly for the people.

On his part, Hon Emeka Agbala, APGA House of Assembly candidate for Nsukka East, told the people that a vote for Frank Nweke Jr is a vote for him. He said that the aspiration of the APGA governorship candidate is to fix the place and not short change the poor masses like the current ruling party in Enugu State.

Other residents such as Elder Emmanuel Obeta; a woman leader, Mrs. Lebechi Onah; youth leaders, Comrade Joseph Ejike and Jacinta Onyekelu listed bad roads, lack of water, lack of electricity, insecurity and unemployment after year’s of formal education, amongst others as the problems they currently face.

Assuring the people that his government will make provision of those basic amenities a priority, Frank Nweke Jr noted the very bad state of roads in the area and indeed in sections of the entire state. He also decried the lack of water across the state assuring he would address them squarely.

“For our roads, we are clear on how to approach the rehabilitation and construction of roads in the State through a Strategic Road Construction and Rehabilitation Programme.

“Water availability and good access roads are also critical to economic growth as well as personal comfort and we already have plans to revive the Adada water scheme with a water distribution plan to serve towns and cities in Enugu North, while designing new water supply systems with existing water bodies in different communities.”

Frank Nweke Jr said that with working infrastructure, as well as the right policies, companies will be confident enough to set up their businesses in the State and provide jobs to solve the problem of unemployment.

He also assured the people that his government will stop the diversion of local government funds, which the government of the day does presently. He would ensure that only competent, visionary, knowledgeable and honest individuals are allowed to run the local government.
