He said the invitation to Nweke was divinely inspired by their seers, who were certain that he would become the next governor of the State. Hence, their desire to be pragmatic with their support for his election.

Speaking on the goodwill they had towards Nweke and APGA, the Secretary General of the Assembly, Barr. Alex Amujiogu, the Community’s woman leader, Mrs Edith Ozoani and a few others praised Nweke’s kindness and wisdom, recalling the part he played in ensuring that Ama Breweries was successfully cited in Ngwo by ensuring that disputes arising from land appropriation for the factory were amicably resolved.

Nweke thanked the people for their warm reception and praised the discipline and organisation displayed by the Community’s leadership.

He noted that in his manifesto for restoring Enugu’s lost glory, a disciplined and visionary leadership was the first pillar that all other plans rested on. He explained that the right leadership would determine the success or failure of any venture, noting that the nurture and upbringing he received from his parents constrained him from inappropriate actions that may bring disrepute to his family name.

Going further, he shared that his administration would ensure that the right leaders are given the opportunity to work across all levels of the government and local government authorities given the autonomy to carry out its statutory responsibilities without negative interference from the State government.

He promised to prioritise the welfare of workers, restating that a special plan would be put in place to ensure the payment of all pensions and gratuities that are owed by the State.

Highlighting that his decision to select a female deputy gubernatorial candidate was intentional, he declared that women would play major roles in their government and special attention would be accorded to their welfare because of the crucial role they play in the home and in the society.

He also outlined their plans for restoring water supply, ensuring the security of lives and properties, transforming the health and educational sectors amongst others.

Nweke had earlier paid a courtesy call to Ndi Ozo Ndi Ngwo consisting of Chief Anthony Amujiogu (Ozo Jesus Thank Sir) and the Onowu, Chief Evaristus Okwo, who extolled the leadership qualities of APGA governorship hopeful and prayed for the success of his quest to become the Governor.
