Frank Nweke Jr, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Enugu State, on Sunday received the overwhelming support of Udi and Ezeagu Local Government Areas as the people trooped out to support him and their House of Representatives candidate, Honourable Wilfred Okeke (Omeluora Ezeagu), on the grounds of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Anike, Umumbandiagu.

Hon. Okeke who referred to Nweke as the next Governor of Enugu State given his wide acceptance across the state for his honesty and integrity pointed out that the APGA flag bearer’s visit marked the first time a gubernatorial candidate would be coming to the community which seemed to have been abandoned by Enugu State government.

He stated that politicians have shortchanged the people in infrastructural development, using the state of the roads in Umumbandiagu as a clear example. Okeke therefore appealed to Nweke to make the construction of the road a priority when he becomes governor. He also assured him of their victory in Udi and Ezeagu local government areas.

Okeke went further to extol the qualities of integrity and discipline in the gubernatorial candidate, noting that their partnership in government will serve the interest of the people. He assured the people of equal representation of all the people in the constituency declaring that it will be a new dawn for Udi/Ezeagu.

Finally, he thanked members of the APC and PDP who turned up to show their allegiance, lauding their desire for good governance above party loyalty.

Nweke, thanked Hon. Okeke for the warm reception and his commitment to the service of his people. He applauded the people for their political consciousness and urged them to keep supporting the APGA team consisting of himself, Hon. Okeke, the Senatorial Candidate for Enugu East and state Chairman of the party, Hon Ndubisi Enechi-Onyia, and the state House of Assembly candidate for Ezeagu, Maduabuchi Kingsley, until victory was delivered.

Highlighting the deplorable conditions of the roads and other concerns raised by the people, Nweke stressed that the basic infrastructure such as roads, water supply, electricity and security were a priority for his administration in order to improve the quality of life for the people. He assured them of the attraction of industries to catalyse development and create job opportunities in Udi and Ezeagu.

He noted that the APGA team had distinguished themselves as had been described by some members of the community who praised Okeke as a philanthropist and a staunch supporter of developmental projects in the area.

The women leaders Madam Rebecca Chibuko and Madam Justina Oke, and other representatives of various groups – youths (Chinedu Chibuko), men (Onyemechi Obiora) were effusive in their praise of the candidates and pledged unflinching support for the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
