The leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Akpa/Ozi Ward in Nsukka LG Area of Enugu State, Hon. Evang. Sunday Raphael Ugwoke Esq has refuted what he described as “falsehood” reports that APC Akpa/Ozi ward in Nsukka LG collapses structure to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Hon. Ugwoke, in a statement he sent to journalists in Enugu on behalf of APC Akpa/Ozi ward said the report was the handiwork of disgruntled elements within the party with no political values.

The APC chieftain said the falsehood was cooked up and dished to the public when the guber Candidate of the APGA, Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr visited the area for campaign at the weekend.

The statement reads, “It came to me with great surprise and dismay that some disgruntled elements with no political value resort to falsehood to deceive the public while seeking political relevance.

“It is with great disappointment to see a publication making round in media that One Enete Matthew who claimed to be ward chairman of APC Akpa/Ozi ward has collapsed his imaginary structure to APGA (but of a truth there is no structure of APGA in Akpa/Ozi ward as I am talking now).

“May I sincerely inform the general public that Mr Matthew was never ward Chairman of APC Akpa/Ozi ward at any point in time.

“May I also inform the public that Mr. Matthew Enete was once a member of APC AKpa/Ozi ward but left the party after 2018 APC ward congress where he aspired to contest for ward chairman but was stopped by me because it was not the turn of Ozi community where both of us hailed from.

“He angrily left the authentic APC structure then and joined force with the then APC faction led by Minister and finally left APC after 2019 election consequent upon the confrontation he had from his faction for mismanaging the election money he received on behalf of his faction in Nsukka LG then.

“As it stands today the Chairman of APC Akpa/Ozi ward is Ozor Francis Ogbu a retired UNN (University of Nigeria Nsukka) staff who has comfortably repositioned APC Akpa/Ozi very well through effective leadership and honesty under a solid support often given to the ward by Hon.Evang Sunday Raphael Ugwoke Esq, the Leader of Akpa/Ozi and Secretary APC Nsukka.

“By this statement I wish to inform the great APC family in Enugu State and beyond cum the general public that members and structure of APC in Akpa/Ozi ward is intact and we are loyal to our great party and ready to vote APC on the forthcoming election of 11th March 2023.”

The APC chieftain therefore urged APC members and the general public to discountenance the false report.

He said the originator of the “ignoble falsehood”, one Mr Matthew Enete, was merely seeking cheap political relevance even when he ceased to be a member of APC long time ago.
