Gov. Mbah forwards second list of Commissioner Nominees to state assembly

Chetanne Chinelo, Enugu

In keeping with his promise to forward a second batch of nominees for screening and subsequent swearing-in as commissioners in Enugu state, the state Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has submitted the second batch of Commissioner nominees to the lawmakers.

Recall that while presenting the first list, on behalf of the Governor, by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, part of the letter read “While this may not be the exhaustive list, I’m optimistic that this request will receive your usual expeditious consideration”.

The Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, who read the letter sent to the house by the Governor said the list includes:

  1. Dr. Martin Chinweike
  2. Obi Ozor
  3. Ajogwu Sunday Emeka
  4. Chris Robert Ozongwu
  5. Dr. Felix Nnamani
  6. Patrick Ubru

The SSG, Onyia, who also presented the second batch on behalf of the Governor appealed to the house for a speedy consideration.

The speaker of the House directed the nominees to make available copies of their CV and appear tomorrow, Thursday, 10th August, 2023 for screening by 10am.

If the screening of the six names on the second list is successful, this will bring the total number of commissioners in the state so far to twenty one individuals.
