Tribunal Verdict: ‘Your victory assures of continuity of great things you have started in Enugu’ – Anioma, Mbah’s Political Adviser

Following the verdict of the Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the victory of the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, in the March 18, 2023 governorship election, Hon. Frank Anioma, the Special Adviser to Mbah on Political Matters, has lauded the decision.

In a terse statement personally signed by him, Anioma expressed his confidence in the developmental strides of the Governor.

The statement reads: “Your Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, it is a thing of joy that at last the will of the people was not submerged and I want to say a big Congratulations to you sir, for a resounding victory at the tribunal.

“Your victory has reassured Ndi Enugu of the continuity of the great job you have started in Enugu State.

“Congratulations once more, Your Excellency”.

Recall that the tribunal, Thursday, September 21, 2023, consisting of a three-member panel of judges led by Justice Kudirat Akano had upheld INEC’s declaration and return of Mr. Peter Mbah as the duly elected Governor of Enugu state in the March 18, 2023 election.

Mr Mbah polled 160,895 votes to defeat his closest challenger and the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, who scored 157,552 votes.

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Frank Nweke Jr, garnered 17,983 votes to come third, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Uche Nnaji, came fourth, with 14,575 votes.

Mr Edeoga had filed a petition at the tribunal challenging the victory of Mr Mbah, now governor.
