The Governor said the project is critical to the development of the State and most be completed despite the bottleneck.

He expressed displeasure over the attitude of some of the handlers of the project which he is counter productive.

” This your visit is a very desired one for us because we have been thinking on what to do since I took over as Governor. This project is critical to the lives of our people but am not satisfied with the way some people are handling it. In fact I have confronted some of them. Whatever we do, we should consider the future of our children, you may think you are making money now but your children will be the one to suffer it”.

He charged them to take the job seriously to ensure its completion on record time.

“Yes it is not all the time that you displease yourself to please others, but as a servant of the people sometimes you ought to displease yourself to please others.”

The Governor also observed that constant increase in exchange rates has become a major challenge in the implementation of the project and appealed to the bank to find solutions to it.

“When the issue of reviewing the contract came up, I became very worried because we borrowed this money in dollars when it was three Hundred and Ninety Nine Naira and now dollar has gone up to One Thousand Five Hundred Naira in the parallel market and we are repaying in dollars. Are we now paying what we borrowed or what is currently in the market” the Governor queried.
