2023: Enugu APGA Governorship Candidate, Frank Nweke, to unveil manifesto on October 15

As the ban on campaign activities for governorship elections is set to be lifted, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Frank Nweke Jr, has announced the unveiling of his campaign manifesto.

In a statement sent to our Enugu correspondent by his campaign organization, the unveiling will hold on Saturday, October 15, 2022 by 11am, at the Kobb Civic Center, Polo Park Mall, GRA, Enugu.

Part of the statement reads: “The All Progressives Grand Alliance and The Okeifufe Campaign Organization, on behalf of their gubernatorial candidate, Frank Nweke Jr, are pleased to invite the members of the press, the civil service, Civil Society Organizations and the people of Enugu to the unveiling of Frank’s Manifesto for Reigniting the Coal City.

“Our Manifesto has been crafted to capture every sphere of life that affects Ndi Enugu while taking note of the priorities”.

Nweke, a former Minister for Information, emerged the governorship candidate of APGA, after he defected to the party from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He has more than 15 years proven leadership experience at both State and Federal government levels and well over 20 years of same in the private sector of the economy.

He was Chief of Staff to the Governor of Enugu State from 2001-2003. In 2003, he was appointed a Minster by President Olusegun Obasanjo in the Intergovernmental Affairs, Special Duties and Youth Affairs portfolio, making him one of the youngest members of the Nigerian Federal Cabinet in which he served. He was to be later appointed as a Minister for Information and Communications in 2005. Prior to being the Chief of Staff to the Governor he was the Resident Consultant on Economic Affairs.

In February, 2009, Frank was appointed the Director-General of Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). In 2020, he was elected as the President of Harvard Kennedy School Alumni Association of Nigeria (HKSAAN).
