Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has been thrown into mourning following the assassination of the party’s chairman for Atakumosa East Local Council Development Authority, Gbenga Ogbara, by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
According to sources in the party, Ogbara was attacked in his home in Igangan in the early hours of Monday by some assailants, who shot him dead and injured his wife and one other person said to be a child of the deceased.
Media Adviser to Osun APC state Chairman, Kola Olabisi, confirmed the incident, saying the party had been thrown into mourning.
Also, Osun police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, said the deceased was killed in his house by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
She said, “he was killed in his home in the early hours of Monday. More details will be provided later but we have immediately commenced work to unravel the mystery behind the incident.”
