The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh, SAN, will on Monday commission what is described as West Africa’s first ASUS Flagship Store, an initiative expected to strengthen Nigeria’s technology retail ecosystem and deepen collaboration between global technology brands and the local market.

The flagship store, established through a partnership between ASUS and Nigerian e-commerce company Konga, is scheduled for inauguration on August 3 and is expected to mark a significant milestone in the region’s technology retail landscape.

Senior executives from ASUS, including the company’s EMEA General Manager, Mr. Aaron Tsai, are expected in Nigeria for the event as part of efforts to reinforce the company’s strategic partnership with Konga and demonstrate its commitment to the Nigerian market.

The commissioning ceremony is also expected to attract key stakeholders from government, the technology industry, the business community, and the media.

According to the organisers, the initiative is designed to meet the growing demand among Nigerian consumers for authentic technology products, immersive shopping experiences, expert product guidance, reliable after-sales support, and trusted retail channels.

The development comes as Konga continues to expand its partnerships with leading global technology brands, reflecting increasing investor confidence in Nigeria as one of Africa’s most important digital markets.

Industry analysts say flagship technology stores are becoming increasingly important as consumers demand greater product authenticity, hands-on experiences, technical support, and improved customer service beyond conventional retail models.

The organisers believe the ASUS-Konga partnership will set a new benchmark for technology retail in West Africa while contributing to Nigeria’s digital transformation and expanding access to world-class technology products.
