Zainab Buba Galadima has joined the list of panelists for the sixth edition of the Frontier Discourse Annual Public Lecture Series and Awards, scheduled to hold in Abuja, as the organisers prepare to examine insecurity, electoral violence, Nigeria’s politics and democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She joins former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani; Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ben Nwoye; Executive Director of Development Specs Academy, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, mni; and the President’s Special Adviser on Economic Affairs, Dr. Tope Fasua, among the discussants unveiled for the event.

The lecture, organised by Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, will focus on the theme, “Barrel to Ballot: The Naturalisation of Violence, Nigeria’s Polity and its Democratic Circus.”

The theme is expected to stimulate discussions on violence, democratic governance and the challenges confronting Nigeria’s political system as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

Frontier Discourse, an annual colloquium launched in 2021, was conceived as a platform to bridge the gap between African leaders and citizens through dialogue, policy reviews and the exchange of development ideas. It also recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to Africa’s growth.

Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, a privately owned print and digital publication established in 2020, organises the initiative, which has become a platform for engagement on national and continental issues.

A member of the organising committee, Frank Ufondu, said the diversity of the panelists was intended to bring different perspectives to the discussion.

“Our choices of discussants were carefully curated. We want to have a healthy mix of different contributions during the session so that delegates can leave the event with a wholesome perspective of the issues confronting us as a nation ahead of the 2027 general elections”.

The event is expected to attract captains of industry, religious leaders, traditional rulers, politicians, youth organisations, civil society and non-governmental organisations, professional bodies, representatives of the formal sector, secondary school students, undergraduates and award recipients.

Beyond the panel discussions, the programme will feature history sessions, comedy, poetry and exhibitions.

The sixth edition will hold at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, also known as Merit House, in Maitama, Abuja. The red carpet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., while the main event will commence at 11 a.m.

The organisers said attendance and registration are free. Interested participants can register to reserve their seats through https://forms.gle/C6Rtpjv5gQUBm31T9.

For sponsorship, partnership and other enquiries, members of the public can call or send WhatsApp messages to 09137940957.

The event partners include One Stewart Ventures Limited, Frontline Africa, Igwesi Human Development Centre, Steve Oruruo Foundation, ROWE Oil and Royal Entourage Consult.
