Tinubu Holds Maiden Meeting With Nigeria Governors Forum In Aso Rock

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with governors of the 36 states of the Federation in the Council Chamber, Abuja.

This is the first meeting the Nigeria Governors Forum led by its Chairman and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would be Having with the president since since he assumed office over a week ago.

Also at the meeting is Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the newly sworn in Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno, among others.

Some of those physically in attendance include the Govenors of Zamfara, Kano, Taraba, Kogi, Ogun, Nasarawa, Bayelsa, Adamawa, Ebonyi, Lagos, Rivers, Osun, Jigawa, Benue, Taraba, Delta, Enugu, Rivers, Oyo, Plateau, Kebbi, Abia, Imo and Bauchi.

This meeting comes a few days after the president met with the governors of his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), under the aegis of the the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF).

There are suggestions that the fuel subsidy issue will be a top priority at this meeting after proper introductory formalities have been carried out.

During his inaugural speech, the president made it clear that he would constantly consult stakeholders with regards to key decisions that affect the country.

While he has appointed Femi Gbajabiamila as his Chief of Staff and Akume as his SGF, Nigerians are still waiting for the president to name his full cabinet, knowing that the task on ground is enormous, even as the people await to fully enjoy the dividends of the nation’s democracy.
