Enugu: Tribunal dismisses petition of APC’s Nnaji against Gov Mbah, LP’s Edeoga, APGA’s Nwek
The Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, yesterday, dismissed the case filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Uchenna Nnaji.
Nnaji had filed a petition seeking to be declared governor on the grounds that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mbah, Labour Party’s Chijioke Edeoga and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Frank Nweke Jr were not qualified to contest the March 18 election.
He also alleged that they failed to disclose their assets when they served in various public offices before participating in the election.
In the ruling, Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Kudirat Akano, held that the pre-hearing notice filed by the petitioner was premature and ran foul of the 2022 Electoral Act and therefore dismissed the case.
