Ekweremadu: Passport, NIN, other documents surface; reveal age of would-have-been donor as above 21

Some documents believed to belong to the proposed organ donor in the allegation of organ harvesting leveled against a 3 time Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate and Senator Representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Ike Ekweremadu, and wife, Lady Beatrice Ekweremadu, by The Metropolitan Police, have surfaced online.

The documents of the would-have-been donor released by some sources and sighted by our correspondent revealed that the name on the documents was the same as one mentioned in a letter written by Ekweremadu, dated December 28, 2021, and addressed to the Visa Section, British High Commission, Abuja.

The said documents which include his National Identification Number, NIN Print out slip, Bank Verification Number, BVN Slip and International Passport, all bore the name, Ukpo Nwamini David.

It also revealed that, contrary to the claims of The Metropolitan Police, the said male was born on October 12, 2000, making him 21 years old.

Our correspondent, as at the time of this report, could not gather who released the documents to the sources that made them public.

Nwamini, from his Facebook profile which he has taken down, is from Izzi in Ebonyi State and is already in a relationship according to his profile on the socla media account.

Recall Ekweremadu and wife, Beatrice, after their arrest earlier this week, were denied bail by an Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court in the United Kingdom.

The letter by Ekweremadu requesting a British visa for a 15 year-old organ donor for his daughter, which emerged online on Thursday, stated that the said boy was to donate a kidney to Ekweremadu’s daughter Sonia.

The document reads partly, “David and Sonia will be at the Royal Free Hospital London and I will be providing the necessary funding.”

Although the visa letter also revealed the identity of Ekweremadu’s kidney donor, the age of the would-be-donor has raised dust in the public domain.

The Metropolitan Police, according to reports, had begun investigating the case in May this year, before Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice were arrested, along with the boy-donor at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday.

The kidney procedures were scheduled to be carried out at the Royal Free Hospital London.
