Today marks what would have been the 28th birthday of Nigerian singer Ileriooluwa Oladimeji Aloba, a.k.a. Mohbad. He tragically passed away on September 12, 2023.
His death raised suspicion after the singer was buried a day after his death, sparking a wave of protest across the country with the demand, “Justice for Mohbad.”
Following calls for an investigation into his death, the Nigerian police set up a team and, on September 21, exhumed his body for an autopsy to determine the possible cause of his death.
The result of the autopsy is yet to be released by the police.
In a post on Instagram, Bella Smhurda, a close friend of the singer, said, “Happy posthumous birthday my brother my friend Oba Imole. Rest in power. Love u forever and I miss u”

In a post on X, former Big Brother Naija’s housemate, Tasha, shared a picture with the caption “Happy Birthday Mohbad.”
Similarly, in an Instagram story, musician Seyi Vibes wrote, “Happy birthday MOH”
On his Instagram handle, musician Small Doctor (iam_smalldoctor) shared a video of the Mohbad with the caption “Happy posthumous birthday omo mi”
Skitmaker, Ogbrecent shared a picture of Mohbad with the caption “Happy posthumous birthday, MOHBAD imole”
An X user, @Adeyinka880, wrote, “HAPPY POSTHUMOUS BIRTHDAY MOHBAD Young Legend ! Rest on IMOLE “
Another user, @TheAjibolaGrey, wrote, “Happy birthday, Mohbad, your light will continue to shine forever. You will forever be a light and a superstar.”
